Fishing Experiences in the Scottish Highlands
There are few experiences more natural in every human culture than catching and bringing home your own food. The ability to experience that supremely satisfying and very ethical means of sustenance is becoming rare in our modern lives. We offer you a chance to sample that by taking a fishing trip with our partners at Green Highlander.
Head out to catch a wild and wily brown trout from the clean clear waters of the pristine Scottish Highlands. Bring your fish back to Assynt House and allow chef Graham to prepare your catch for you. Or try your hand Spey Casting for the king of fish, the Atlantic salmon on one of Scotland’s famous rivers.
No experience necessary as you will be taught how to fly fish and all tackle can be supplied. Of course, a fish on the bank is never 100% assured but we guarantee a great day out with magical scenery.
Relax and enjoy a day out in good company. Your Host Pete Smith has been fishing for well over 50 years, knows his subject back to front and has the skills and the passion to pass on the knowledge. All species and techniques can be covered. Based in Strathglass near Beauly, there are many exciting places to discover in the Scottish Highlands.
Fly-fishing tuition - Let an expert show you how to cast a fly for salmon or trout in the Scottish Highlands. River or loch, one to one or small groups. Larger groups up to 12 can also be covered.
Day or half day trips arranged. Short beginners’ courses and also more experienced level improvement classes. Transport to/from Assynt House can be arranged. Tackle and waders supplied if required.
